Hypnotherapy is when Hypnosis is used with psychotherapy. This highly effective treatment option works by helping us relax the conscious mind enough to allow it to work with our unconscious mind to unlock and replace resistance, fears, insecurities, maladaptive belief systems and defense mechanisms.
Being under hypnosis feels similar to being in a deep meditative state or like the state between being asleep and awake. As the client, you are always in control. The hypnotherapist merely acts as a guide to help you tap into your own strengths and abilities to heal yourself. Hypnotherapy is about empowering us to know that all the answers we will ever need are within us and this process helps us access them.
Hypnotherapy can be used to help us with anything and everything! We can use it to reduce physical and emotional symptoms, change our behaviors and thought process, assist us in our own personal and spiritual growth and to overcome challenges, difficult situations, fears and insecurities.
What can I expect in Hypnotherapy sessions?
In the sessions leading up to hypnotherapy, you and your therapist will discuss the goals that will be targeted during the process. The suggestions you'll receive during hypnosis will all be positive with the purpose of reaching your own highest good.
Hypnotherapy sessions take 60 minutes as you spend about 45 minutes in hypnosis and 15 minutes afterwards to process what you experienced. Keep in mind that "hypnotic time" is not equitable to real time, as 45 minutes seems to go by in about five minutes. When you awake from your hypnotic slumber you'll feel fully rested, as if you just woke up from a wonderful night's sleep. You'll be completely alert, ready and motivated to resume your day to include all of the positive suggestions you were given.
Here are some audio tracks to give you examples of the hypnotic suggestions:
YouTube Playlist:
Insight Timer App:
Overcome Feeling of Not Being Good Enough
Acceptance, Letting Go & Surrendering
Strengthening Self-Esteem & Self-Love
Exercise, Be Fit & Be Healthy
Stop Smoking
Drink Alcohol in Moderation
These our guided meditations that were inspired by my hypnotherapy practice. The difference is, these tracks don't include the beginning part that would lead you into a hypnotic trance. You can practice these as a guided meditation and you can fall asleep to them. They can be played at a very low volume, as your unconscious mind will be alert and listening to all of the positive suggestions. It is recommended that you fall asleep to these recordings every night for at least a week or until you begin to see changes in your thoughts and behavior.
